We've started singing Christmas music! And, I brought a "Bunter Teller", a German traditional plate of cookies and treats for the Advent season, and especially now that Saturday is Nikolaustag. There was an assortement of cookies, store-bought and homemade, some mandarine oranges, candy canes and other little treats. We shared a pot of tea. It was lovely.
All of my playlists have a variety of genres of music by a variety of artists and from different eras, but I think this one was the most surprising. Everyone does Christmas music, from big choirs and orchestras, to Paul McCartney, Kenny Rogers, the Crash Test Dummies, and Twisted Sister.
There are tons of songs on my playlist, and then there are tons of playlists on Apple Music for the Christmas season, so the next couple weeks will be Christmas and Hanukkah music.
Here are some of the songs we sang and listend to:
- Wonderful Christmastime by Paul McCartney
- The Christmas Song by Paul McCartney
- Christmas Dinner by Peter, Paul & Mary
- Ding Dong Merrily on High by the Oxford Trinity Choir
- Do They Know it's Christmas? by Band Aid
- Do You Hear What I Hear by for King & Country
- God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Barenaked Ladies & Sarah McLachlan
- God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Crash Test Dummies (not the whole thing, 'cause...)
- I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas by Gayla Peevey (we'll do it again for Ian)
- O Come All Ye Faithful by Elvis Presley
- O Holy Night by Anne Murray
- Someday at Christmas by Stevie Wonder
- Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow by Twisted Sister (not the whole thing, 'cause...)
