Sick Day: Thursday, February 19th, 2026- No singing today

I'm sorry, folks, this flu (or whatever it is) has clobbered me and I'm now on my 6th day of being knocked out. My nose and throat are still productive, and I don't want to share this with anyone.

We were going to add pets to our Home and Family theme, for Valentine's Day and Family Day. We love our pets and they become family members. I have a playlist with songs with animals. Let's hold on to that for next week.

Just one example of a Pet song: Martha My Dear by the Beatles

If you're ever in need of a sing-along and you're alone, head over to YouTube, and you'll find so many songs with lyrics, and even playlists based on artists. So, you could search for "Beatles songs with lyrics" or "Chicago songs with lyrics", or songs in an era or decade, or individual songs that you like, with lyrics.

Here's something fun to listen to: a Beatles medley by Walk off the Earth. It's frustrating for me to not be able to sing, but I can watch and listen.

Sound carries over water, so have some buddies join you if you’re not comfortable with a solo performance.  Orchestrate some backyard sing-alongs if you can.  Singing outdoors in the summer is an opportunity you don’t want to miss. I’ve enjoyed the free concerts in Aurora and Newmarket in the past. They have ‘tribute bands’ who perform all the hits you know, and you’ll want to sing and dance along. (would be nice if they projected the lyrics for us, because we're used to having those words now) I’ve added these concerts to my YRCC Calendar to encourage my choristers to go. I’...
